United Media Production and Nova TV have announced a competitions for submissions of projects – feature series scripts and/or finished or partially finished television series (works) independent for production and/or broadcast on United Media channels and/or platforms.

Applications for the NOVA TV competition in Croatia can be sent until October 15, 2022, to the e-mail address scenarij@novatv.hr, with the subject COMPETITION 2022

Applications for the United Media competition in Serbia can be sent until November 15, 2022, to the e-mail address konkurs2022@unitedmedia.net

You can submit projects in one or more of the following categories:

– A series of 12 episodes, with an episode duration of 50-60 minutes

– A series of 24 episodes, with an episode duration of 45-50 minutes

– A series of 50 episodes, with an episode duration of 45-50 minutes

We are looking for television series with contemporary themes in one of the following genres: drama, dramedy, comedy, sitcom, crime, thriller, teen, young adult or hybrids of the aforementioned genres.

Script applications must contains:

– a short biography of the author or the team of authors

– a bible (primarily the concept, description of the world, characterization of characters, atmosphere, secondarily the main points of the plot through the season, inspiration, references or role model, proposal of actors, and any additional material as desired in the form of photos, pictures, descriptions, etc. that helps in illustrating the project

– the first episode’s script and synopses of other episodes or

– the script of all episodes

Applications for produced feature series must contain:

-information about the independent producer (registration decision from the BRA, information about the website, if any, information about previous projects, if any

– a short biography of the screenwriter, director and producer of the series

– a bible (primarily the concept, description of the world, characterization of characters, atmosphere, secondarily the main points of the plot through the season, inspiration, references or role model, proposal of actors, and any additional material as desired in the form of photos, pictures, descriptions, etc. that helps in illustrating the project). NOTE: if the entire season is shot, the bible does not need to be submitted

– the first episode’s script

– synopses of other episodes

– pilot episode

NOVA TV and UM will, at its discretion, choose the best among the submitted projects and offer the authors the possibility of purchasing the material/work and further cooperation, which will be regulated by a separate contract, by 15.12.2022 and 15.01.2023 respectively.

The organizer reserves the right to, based on professional evaluation and at its own discretion, choose several works and not choose any of the offered works if it deems that they do not meet the conditions for the successful final realization of the project, and can cancel this competition at any time, without explanation. After the end of the competition, the organizer will destroy the submitted documentation in an appropriate manner.

All applications received after the deadline for application will not be considered, nor will the participant exercise any rights against the organizer based on these applications.

The organizer will not bear responsibility for any damage suffered (including actual damage and lost profit) or costs incurred as a result of participation in the competition, cancellation or termination of the competition. In particular, the organizer will bear no responsibility if, for reasons on the part of the competition participants, cooperation and the conclusion of the relevant contract regarding the implementation of the selected project do not occur.
